RNA Polymerase II is the central component of the transcriptional machinery. The two largest components of RNA Pol II, RPB1 and RPB2, form the enzyme active site. The antibody CTD4H8 recognizes the C-terminal repeat of the largest subunit of RNA polymerase II from HeLa and S. cerevisiae cells. This antibody recognizes both the phosphorylated and unphosphorylated forms of RNA polymerase II.
